The Fairy Troll
Moonbeam is blown off her cloud home and ends up in the land of trolls. She meets Luke. He helps her find her way home and the pair come the most unlikely friends.
Excerpt:
Once upon a time, there was a tiny pixie who lived on a cloud. Pixies and fairies are generally small anyways but she was smaller than most. Every time a gust of wind blew, she clung with all her might to anything within reach. For the wind could lift her with ease and it was too strong for her to fly in.
But one day, it came a terrible, raging storm. She reached blindly in front of her and alas at that moment, a bolt of lightning flashed, sending her backwards into the air. The wind was so strong, it carried her very far away. The place it carried her to was no stranger to magical creatures for she had arrived in Norway.
When the wind had finally ceased, she dropped with a big thud. She sat up trying to shake the aches she felt. She had landed beside a crystal clear lake. She studied her reflection. She had certainly looked like she had been through a violent storm. Her hair was a mess, all over her head she was drenched with rain, She shook herself dry and smoothed out her hair. While she did that, she noticed rippling waves in the water. Terrified, she watched as a creature emerged. She could see by the light of the moon, it was small and had fur. Apparently, the creature had been hunting for food for it held a fish in one paw.
Suddenly, the creature noticed the little pixie, who sparkled underneath the night sky. “Hello,” she squeaked, not sure if the creature was friendly or not.
Startled, the creature dropped its fish it held. “Hello,” he finally said back. He peered closer at the little pixie. “What exactly are you?” He poked her belly with his furry finger.
“Hey, don’t do that. I’m a pixie,” she replied. “Like a fairy.”
“Well, I never seen the likes of whatever you are.” “You never heard of my kind?” She shook her head no. “I’m a troll. You must not be from here if you never heard of trolls.”

I have wanted to be a writer ever since I was 8 years old. I grew up a Navy brat, moving around A LOT! I lived on the navy base in Norfolk, Va, Groton, Ct, Mobile, Al and probably numerous other states as well, so it was hard making friends, being as shy as I was. I did have a close friend in Norfolk named Jennifer. We became friends because just like my characters in Different Colored Dreams we had the same lunch box of Rainbow Brite. We were huge fans of the cartoon. But then, once, again I had to move.
But we moved to Cleveland, TN and that is where my grandparents and cousins lived. I started going to Hopewell Elementary and I got to stay long enough where I had a favorite teacher, Mrs. Armour. She read us books from Judy Blume and E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web. She introduced me to my love of books. My dad finally retired and we got to stay here!
But it was not till my teacher took us to the library for reading time, we got to listen to the librarian read us a book. This was no ordinary book. It was a 12 year old girl who wrote her dad a story for being in the army. I felt a connection to her. This girl was four years older than me but I felt I could write a book, even at my young age. I was hooked. I read and wrote all I could. I was determined to accomplish my dream. I promised my mom I would dedicate my first book to her and that I did. A Mystical Journey, the first book I ever self-published, came out in 2009 and six years later, I reformatted it and then, I felt like I had to write all I could!
God gave me my talent and inspires me each and every day and blesses me with so much. My mom will always be my number one fan but sadly, she passed away in 2013. Many books I have written are dedicated to her memory. Lots of my ideas come from wanting to make presents for people and seeing them smile from the story I have written. The words always seemed rather magical to me and I love that writing can take me wherever imagination roams.
