By Trisha King
Daddy’s Little Girl Zoey
The sun is rising high in the sky, I think to myself, as I listen to your giggles. I wonder what you will be when you grow up. It didn’t take long before my imagination takes me for a ride of its own.
Excerpt:
I stand by your bed and smile real big. You stand up in your bed with your arms reach up, real big! Good morning, my Little Zo Zo. Each time I look at your lovely face I feel lucky that I am your dad. To the world they call me Ed, but to my little girl you call my Daddy.
I take you to the living room and I see you smile real big. I wonder where your mind goes, when you glance away into space. Before we rise and shine for the day, I sit back in my chair and watch you drink your milk. Each day you grow a little more, soon days will pass and turn into years. Zo Zo, I’m not ready for the day you will be grown.
But ready I am not, soon I’ll watch as you live your own adventures. Oh, how fun that will be to watch you grow. It will be quite a ride as you ride that rollercoaster, by each chapter in your life.
The sun is rising high in the sky, I think to myself, as I listen to your giggles. I wonder what you will be when you grow up. It didn’t take long before my imagination takes me for a ride of its own.
